DARLEY MANOR INN is a Historic Register, C.1790 Colonial-style Manor House located in suburban North Wilmington, de. Near-by I-95 / I-495 give easy access to Wilmington, Philadelphia, and the Brandywine Valley attractions. The Inn is half-way between New York City and Washington, DC. Special attention is given to the business traveler's needs and schedules. Mobil 3-star





Ray & Judith pamper guest with "southern" hospitality and service. The Inn is elegantly decorated in Colonial & Victorian period antiques and reproductions. Lots of "common areas" inside and out.. provide ample opportunity for relaxation and conversation. The "in room" amenities make it comfortable for those who want to rest, read, or watch one of the Inn's many free movies (VCR) after a hectic day. The Inn was featured in the September issue of "Mid-Atlantic Country".





The Inn was home to the world famous, mid-1800's illustrator, Felix Darley. Darley illustrated for Fenimore Cooper ("last of the Mohicans"), Washington Irving ("Ledgend of Sleepy Hollow, Rip Van Winkle"), Nathaniel Hawthore ("The Scarlet Letter"), Charles Dickens ("Barnaby Rudge","The Pickwick Papers") and many others. Charles Dickens visited Darley here for 2 weeks in 1867. Many examples of Darley's work are in the Inn.
