The Nevada Handbook describes Deer Run Ranch Bed and Breakfast as "one of the most idyllic places to stay in the whole state." The two comfortable guest rooms, sitting room/library, and private entry to the secluded pation occupy a private wing of the ranch house. Navajo rugs, old photos, maps and paintings by well known local artists grace the walls.



Set in a sage-covered west facing hillside, this elegant timber-framed ranch house blends perfectly with the surrounding high desert countryside. Gardens, fruit trees, and alfalfa fields surround the complex, which includes the hosts' pottery studio, ranch shop building, pond with pier and boat, and above ground swimming pool. The view (pictured) from the pond deck is of Washoe Lake and the Sierra Nevada Mountains.



The evening breeze down the canyon brings the smell of the sage and the haunting cry of the coyote. Deer graze in the fields at dusk, come to the pond for a morning drink, and sometimes come up on the patio for a nibble or two!



Breakfast is a special treat, different every morning, and always includes homemade jams, syrups, breads and muffins, as well as seasonal fruits and vegetables from the ranch gardens.
