The 5,000 sq foot Federal brick home, once a tavern, was built from 1790 to 1819 and sits between 300 acres of hay fields and woods and the high "Blue Bank" cliff. The steep stagecoach trail which skirts this cliff survives to this day and is accessible for hiking. Horse drawn carriages often slipped on the “soft blue soil” and careened dangerously down the bank. Three spacious guest bedrooms have private bathrooms, gas fireplaces, high ceilings, air conditioning & cotton linens. The guest living room and adjoining library offer relaxed seating, a gas fireplace and TV. Internet access, a copier and fax are available. A unique selection of family antiques includes memorabilia from John’s great-grandfather, a whaling captain. Enjoy a delicious gourmet breakfast and June's freshly made cookies and hot or iced tea. Arrange for a massage during your stay. We will happily arrange to pick up boaters or bikers - the Mohawk River bike trail (bikeway) entrance and parking is a 3 mile drive, and the boat dock at Riverlink Park is 5 miles. Saratoga and Cooperstown are a 40 minute drive.
